Prof.dr. Aleksandar Valajrević
Prof. Aleksandar Valjarević, PhD is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Geography, University of Belgrade, and an internationally recognized expert in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, environmental modeling, and spatial analysis. With over 250 scientific publications, including more than 90 papers indexed in SCI/SCIE journals, his research significantly contributes to climate studies, environmental sustainability, geospatial technologies, hazard assessment, and land use dynamics. Prof. Valjarević’s interdisciplinary work integrates advanced GIS techniques, satellite remote sensing, environmental monitoring, and climate risk analysis to address contemporary challenges related to sustainable development, tourism, natural resource management, and environmental change. His recent research focuses on climate risk mapping, hydrological modeling, environmental footprint assessment, land use transformation, and the integration of forest potential with tourism development. Throughout his academic career, he has participated in numerous European and international projects, including COST Actions, FP7, Jean Monnet initiatives, and cross-border cooperation programmes, while also collaborating with institutions worldwide. He has served as a visiting professor at the University of Wyoming and Ton Duc Thang University, strengthening international cooperation in geospatial sciences and environmental research.
